Guns N' Roses Tribute Albums

In the wake of Axl's mysterious disappearance after 1998 and knowledge of the band breaking up in 1999, musicians everywhere jumped on the opportunity to cover Guns N' Roses and make a profit.  This phenomena resulted in a fury of tribute albums after the cancelled tour in 2002 and the seeming impossibility that Axl's dream of creating a super group under the old name would become a reality.  Broken promises of Chinese Democracy inspire the continuation of tribute albums and show testament to Guns' continuing popularity and the hunger for Guns N' Roses music.  These tribute albums are often marketed as bootlegs.
